Friday Flash Week 4 - 2nd August 2024
From the Principal
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
We've had an exciting week celebrating the Paris Olympics, culminating in our vibrant Green and Gold Day today! Our students have participated in a variety of engaging activities, including:
- Olympic-themed morning circles
- Olympic brain breaks
- Lunchtime mini Olympic challenges
- Potato Olympics
These activities have been a fantastic way to enrich our children's learning and provide them with diverse experiences. I want to extend a special thank you to our student school leaders. They have been instrumental in organising these events and have generously donated their lunchtimes to assist.
Today also marks Principals' Day, and I would like to take this opportunity to express my deep gratitude to the other principals in our school - Leisa Cave, Deidre Anderson, Barb Christie and Alan O'Neill. Their support and assistance are invaluable. The work we do is challenging, but I am incredibly fortunate to work with such a dedicated and passionate team. What I admire most is their unwavering commitment to prioritising the wellbeing and education of our students. They work tirelessly behind the scenes to make our school a SOARING place for children, from early morning preparations to attending P&C meetings and school events late into the evening. Thank you all for your dedication and hard work for our staff, students, and community!
Important Reminder:
Please ensure that students do not arrive at school before 8:30 am unless they are part of our instrumental music program or sports training, as we do not have supervision available before this time. If you need morning care for your child, School Plus offers an excellent outside school hours care program, and they currently have places available.
Special Acknowledgements:
A big thank you to everyone who attended Skate Night on Wednesday. The Student Council successfully raised $610 from this event.
I also want to express my pride in our students who performed in Creative Generation: CGEN State Schools on Stage. Alan O'Neill attended one of the performances and was thoroughly impressed with our students' talents. Thank you to all our students who represented our school so wonderfully through their musical performances.
Kind Regards,
Kelli Harvey
Principal
