Administration Information
Office Details
Office hours are 8.30am to 3.30pm. Please phone administration on 3280 3111 for student absences, interschool sport information line, payment enquiries, payment or uniform shop enquiries, enrolment enquiries, or hold the line to speak to someone in the office.
Excursions/Incursions
Notifications are emailed to Parent/Caregivers to advise when there is an upcoming excursion/incursion for the child/ren. The email will notify you to complete a consent via QParents for you student to attend. Only students who have completed the consent to attend by the due date, will be invoiced. We recommend payment for the excursion be made before the due date, to avoid students missing out.
Payments
There are many ways to make payment to the school. Qkr!, QParents, EFTPOS or BPoint (via invoices sent to you) or bank transfer to BSB 064-417 ACC 00091292 using your Child’s name as the reference, and the event. Centrepay payment agreements can be made via the office. Unfortunately, cash is not preferred method of payment.
Student/Teacher Messages
We gladly pass on messages, but we don’t put calls through to the teachers during class times. We try not to disrupt classes and valuable learning time. We find it best to make clear arrangements with your child in the morning, or write in their diary, (re: pick up etc), to save any confusion with students and encourages them to become independent thinkers.
Visitors/Sign in
Any visitors to the school, need to sign in through the office in school hours. If late lunches are dropped off, student's will be notified to collect. Any late arrivals or early pick-ups need to be done through the office, so correct absence procedures can take place. Failure to do so could result in families receiving an absence text which can cause unnecessary worry for parents.
Sick Bay and Medications
Administering of medications is done through the school office. Consent to administer forms need to be completed. ALL medications must have a prescription label, with a prescribing doctor and dosage. This includes over the counter medications as well. Eg Panadol and Cough Medicines. This is a Department of Education requirement. Unwell students come to the office with a note from the teacher or a staff member on duty. The office will assess the student and liaise with the teacher and call the parent if necessary. If the parent/caregiver cannot be contacted, emergency contacts will be phone. An ambulance will be called if required.
Updating Personal Details
It is extremely important to notify the school if you change any of your personal details including - phone number, address, email address, marital status or custody details
Communications
Communications are made through various channels. Please add Amberley District State School on Facebook and Instagram. Newsletters are emailed out weekly. Other correspondence is emailed via Schoolzine, please check your junk folder from time to time.
Our main platform is QParents. This is a departmental portal where you can access your child’s report cards, attendance records, school excursion consents, invoices and payment details. Parents/Carers should have already received log in details. Please register for this as soon as possible to ensure you don’t miss any information and consents.

School Resource Scheme
School Mobile Device Policy
Amberley District State School aligns with the Queensland Department of Education’s Phones Away for the Day policy. A designated space free from technology is provided, promoting social learning and development. Mobile phones and other devices (including wearable devices like smartwatches, handheld devices, and emerging technologies that connect to telecommunications or the internet, as well as headphones) are restricted during school hours.
If parents need to contact students, they can call the office, and messages will be delivered directly to students. Students requiring mobile phones for safety before or after school may use them only after exiting school grounds.
School Expectations
- Hand-In Procedure: Upon arrival, all mobile phones must be switched off and handed into the Administration office.
- Wearable Devices: Notifications on smartwatches and similar devices must be disabled, preventing calls, messages, and notifications during school hours.
- End-of-Day Collection: Phones can be collected from the Administration office and switched on after the school day ends.
- Curriculum Use: Electronic devices for educational purposes may be used only under teacher supervision with written approval from the Principal.
- Personalised Learning Plans: Some students may access devices as part of a Personalised Learning Plan. When doing so, they must follow agreed-upon rules and conditions.
This policy ensures a safe, distraction-free learning environment while accommodating individual needs.
