Friday Flash Term 3, Week 9 - 12th September, 2025
From the Principal
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Year 5 Camp – Tallebudgera
Our Year 5 students struck lucky with the weather for their annual camp at Tallebudgera and had a fantastic time. I’m a very proud principal to share that staff said the Year 5 and 6 cohorts who attended camp were the best-behaved groups ever.
Celebration of Learning – Friday, 12.00–1.00 pm
As we wrap up Term 3, all parents and carers are invited to visit classrooms on Friday, 12.00–1.00 pm for our Celebration of Learning. Students love sharing their work—come along and see what they’ve achieved this term.
House Spirit – Phantom Winners
Congratulations to Phantom House for winning this term’s ACE ticket competition for outstanding behaviour across the school and during break times. Friday, 19 September is a red Colour House Day for Phantom team members.
Urimbirra Outdoor Learning Upgrade
Work on the Urimbirra outdoor learning space begins Monday (weather permitting). We anticipate completion by the start of next term. There will also be some upgrades to the Senior Undercover area with an inclusion of an outdoor learning pod and seating area. (The upper school students have made it very clear that with the Prep upgrade, The Hangar installation - it was time their area got a refresh!!)
Tuckshop Refurbishment
Before the end of the year, our tuckshop will be refurbished through a grant we received. Once we get confirmation of dates we will let you know. To reduce stock ahead of renovations, the menu will be simplified for a period. Once complete, the tuckshop will be back—better than ever! Our wonderful tuckshop staff, Emma and Bobbi, are very excited. Please note: there will be some interruption to the uniform shop during this time.
Save the Date – Grandparents Day (24 October)
Grandparents Day is fast approaching on Friday, 24 October—one of our biggest annual events. We’d love your ideas to make it another wonderful day. Please email suggestions to principal@amberleydistrictss.eq.edu.au.
Have a great week!

Wellbeing and Engagement
PBL Focus: We are LEARNERS when we grow our Learning Assets 🌱📚
At Amberley, learning is limitless when we use our Learning Assets every day. This week’s focus is: We are LEARNERS when we grow our Learning Assets.
Growing our Learning Assets means:
Being Courageous when we try something new 💪
Being an Inquirer when we ask questions 🔍
Being a Thinker when we solve problems 🤔
Being a Communicator when we share ideas and listen 💬
Being a Collaborator when we work as a team 🤝
Being a Self-Manager when we stay organised and keep trying 🎯
The PAUSE program helps us grow these assets by teaching us to:
Pause and notice what is happening inside and around us 🧘
Name our feelings so we can manage them better 😊😠😟
Choose a helpful response instead of reacting in the moment 🔄
Practise strategies that keep our brains and bodies ready to learn 🧠
When we use PAUSE alongside our Learning Assets, we show that we are Safe, Respectful and Friendly Learners – the foundation of our school expectations.
💡 Family Tip: Ask your child this week: “Which Learning Asset are you growing today, and how can PAUSE help you do it?”

School Attendance

Our School attendance rate is currently 89.9%. Our goal is 95%.
Please contact your year level Deputy Principal, if you need support with attendance at school. Unexplained absence letters are deployed twice a term. You can update attendance through the QParents app.
