Friday Flash Week 8 - 30th August 2024

From the Principal

Dear Parents and Caregivers,

I hope you have wonderful plans for the long weekend! With the warmer weather upon us, it’s a fantastic time of year to enjoy some outdoor activities.

This week, our students had a fantastic time at the Father’s Day Stall. I'm pleased to share that all proceeds have been generously donated by our P&C to the Student Council. A big thank you to Heather Barnes and her amazing team of volunteers for organising and running the stall. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!

As we approach the final two weeks of term, there are many exciting events on the horizon. Our Year 1 students will be heading off to swimming lessons, Year 5 are excitedly preparing for camp, and Year 4 have their Big Day Out. The students are buzzing with anticipation! I’d also like to remind you of our upcoming Curiosity Fair morning, where we warmly invite all parents and caregivers to attend and witness the wonderful projects our students have been working on.

On the last day of school, the Student Council will be hosting a fundraiser—Jersey Day. Please see the flyer below for more information on how your child can participate.

Office Procedures Update

Starting next week, we will be implementing a small change in our office procedures to improve efficiency. There will now be two service windows: one dedicated to parents and one for students. We appreciate your cooperation as we make this adjustment.

Next Friday, we will be celebrating Teacher Aides Day. We are incredibly fortunate to have such dedicated aides working across our school, providing invaluable support to our students. Please join us in recognising their hard work and contribution.

Lastly, we have accumulated a mini mountain of lost property outside the office. If your child is missing any items, please take a moment to check the lost property area.

• Monday: Year 5 Camp
• Tuesday:    Strings at 7:50am. Running Club at 8:30 am on the oval.
• Wednesday: Year 5 Camp.  Junior Choir practice - second break. Uniform Shop open 2.30 to 3.15pm. AFL Auskick & Superkick on the oval
• Thursday:  Father's Day Stall. Touch Football training on the oval 7.45am. Running Club at 8:30 am on the oval.  Little Jets playgroup 9 - 10.45am in BASE.
• Friday: Curiosity Fair

We also have Breakfast Club every morning!

Expectation of the Week

School Attendance

Our School attendance rate is currently 89.6%. Our goal is 95%.

Our students have officially named our new attendance awards   Welcome to the family Sunny and Benny (as in sunny side up and eggs benedict)

Please contact your year level Deputy Principal, if you need support with attendance at school.  Unexplained absence letters are deployed twice a term.  You can update attendance through the QParents app.

Payments Due

Student Resource Scheme

All Student Resource Scheme payments, including payment agreements should be finalised by Fri 06/09/24.
