Friday Flash Week 9 - 2 September, 2024
From the Principal
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
I hope this message finds you well as we wrap up another fantastic and busy term here at Amberley District State School. We’ve had an action-packed few weeks with exciting events and experiences across the school to enrich and engage our students.
Firstly, a big congratulations to all our students and staff involved in the Curiosity Fair! It was inspiring to see our students engaged in such creative and innovative projects, exploring the world around them through science, art, and technology. The level of enthusiasm and the joy the students displayed towards their learning was excellent. Thank you to our families who came along to support and encourage the children’s efforts. Your involvement plays a key role in making these events such a success.
This week, we also celebrated Teacher Aide Appreciation Week, a time to honour and acknowledge the incredible work our teacher aides do every day. Our teacher aides are the unsung heroes of our classrooms, providing support, guidance, and care to ensure that every child reaches their full potential. On behalf of the entire school community, I want to say a heartfelt thank you to our wonderful teacher aides for their dedication and hard work.
Our Year 5 students recently returned from an amazing camp experience, and I want to take a moment to recognise and thank our dedicated teachers who give up their free time to ensure events like this go ahead. From planning and organising, to supervising and leading activities, their commitment and care make these experiences possible for our students. Camp is such a valuable opportunity, not just for fun and adventure, but for building life skills, resilience, and friendships. A huge thank you to the Year 5 teaching team for their hard work and support!
In other news, our Year 1 students are gearing up for their swimming program, which will start next week. This is a great opportunity for our young learners to build water confidence and develop important swimming skills in a safe and fun environment. Swimming is a vital life skill, especially here in Australia, and we’re excited to see our Year 1s embrace this learning opportunity. Please ensure your child has all the necessary swimming gear packed and ready for the lessons.
Also don't forget to check out our Facebook page so you can vote on the 2025 Diary Design. We received over 130 entries designed by the students and the winning design will be announced at this Friday's assembly!
Kind Regards,
Kelli Harvey
Principal
