Friday Flash Week 7 - 13th March, 2025
From the Principal
Dear parents and caregivers,
What a week! I hope you and your loved ones are safe after the weekend’s weather. It was wonderful to see our students back on Wednesday. A huge thank you to our staff for their efforts behind the scenes to ensure our school was ready. I’ve included some photos, as students were fascinated by all the water around the school!
Next Friday, we celebrate Harmony Day, a time to recognise and embrace Australia’s rich cultural diversity. Harmony Day promotes respect, fairness, and a sense of belonging for all Australians. It coincides with the United Nations’ International Day for the Elimination of Racial Discrimination.
I encourage you to discuss the significance of Harmony Day with your children at home. Primary school students are still developing their understanding of the world, and at times, they may repeat language they hear from others, including family, music, or social media, without fully understanding its impact. As adults, we play a crucial role in guiding and educating children to foster respect and inclusivity. Our Student Code of Conduct supports the use of respectful language, and we appreciate your partnership in reinforcing these values.
On Friday, 22nd March, we will hold a special Harmony Day assembly, featuring a visit from Bremer State High School. Additionally, our Flashtastic Friday activities will be Harmony Day-themed, providing students with engaging opportunities to celebrate diversity and inclusivity. If you have an activity that you would like to run for Flashtastic Friday that promotes the values of Harmony Day - please speak to the office.
Don't forget to wear orange!
