Friday Flash Week 8 - 21st March, 2025
From the Principal
Dear parents and caregivers,
Today, we celebrated Harmony Day with a visit from Bremer State High School's cultural dance troupes. It was a wonderful experience for all our students!
On Wednesday, we recognised International Read Aloud Day. Some of our amazing Year 6 students generously donated their lunch breaks to read books to our younger students. I encourage all parents to take time to read aloud to their children, as it has so many positive benefits. For more information, please [click here].
Colour Run Fundraiser
The Colour Run is coming up very soon in Week 10! This is one of our biggest (and messiest!) fundraisers of the year, and the children absolutely love it! It's not too late to set up your fundraising page—every little bit helps.
Celebrations of Learning
With the introduction of our Flashtastic Friday afternoons, we have adapted our Celebrations of Learning. As children now receive weekly reward time for demonstrating Soaring Behaviour, we wanted our Celebrations of Learning to focus purely on learning achievements.
On Friday of Week 10, classes will be holding an Open Classroom Drop-in Session from 12:00 pm – 1:00 pm. Parents and caregivers are invited to visit and see the wonderful learning that has taken place over the term. All are welcome to celebrate your child's success!
Join Us for the ThinkUKnow Presentation – Online Safety
📅 When: 31st March, 5:00 PM
📍 Where: The Library
We invite all parents and carers to attend the ThinkUKnow presentation—an essential session on keeping children safe in the digital world. This informative session, delivered by expert presenters, will provide up-to-date advice on online safety, social media, and how to help your child navigate the internet safely.
In today’s digital age, understanding online risks and empowering children to make safe choices is more important than ever. Don’t miss this opportunity to gain valuable insights and practical tips to support your child’s well-being.
We look forward to seeing you there!

Wellbeing and Engagement
Bucket Filling: Creating a Culture of Kindness
This week, our students are learning about Bucket Filling, a simple yet powerful way to encourage kindness, empathy, and positive relationships. Inspired by the concept from the book Have You Filled a Bucket Today?, this idea teaches that we all carry an invisible bucket. When we do kind and thoughtful things for others, we fill their bucket—and our own! But when we are unkind, we dip from others’ buckets, making everyone feel worse.
Watch this short YouTube video with your child to learn more about how we can all be bucket fillers at home, at school, and in our community.
Ask your child:
🌟 How did you fill someone’s bucket today?
🌟 How did someone fill your bucket?
🌟 What can we do as a family to be bucket fillers?
By making kindness a daily habit, we help create a more positive and caring environment for everyone. Let’s keep filling buckets together! 💛
