From the Principal

Dear Parent and Caregivers,

Today we conducted a Fire Evacuation Drill, and I’m proud to share that our staff and students responded calmly and efficiently. From the initial alert to the final all-clear, the entire process took just 13 minutes. You may have noticed some issues with our external speaker system—this is exactly why we run regular drills, to test and improve our emergency procedures. In the meantime, we continue to use backup alerts via staff SMS messaging and Microsoft Teams. We are currently exploring options to upgrade our school’s speaker system.

A huge thank you to everyone who participated in and supported Monty's Colour Fun Run—it was a fantastic event! Thanks to your generosity, we raised an incredible $12,267.73! Most of the prizes have now been distributed, with a few still on backorder.

A very special shout-out goes to Harley from Prep D, who raised over $1,000—what an amazing effort! Harley will be presented with a special medal in recognition of his outstanding contribution. Well done to Harley and his family for their incredible fundraising!

Today, I had the pleasure of meeting Tina, the new Coordinator at School Plus OSHC. Tina is excited to be part of the Amberley District community and has some great ideas for the service. We look forward to working closely with her to support our students.

Yesterday, I also met with our Parent Representative Group to discuss our Nature Play plans. As part of our upcoming school facility upgrades, we’re working to create more outdoor learning opportunities that align with the Australian Curriculum. These spaces will support student engagement and provide real-life learning experiences to help students grow their learning assets.

And don’t forget to keep logging your nightly reading for the Premier’s Reading Challenge—every book counts!

Warm regards,
Kelli Harvey
Principal

"Do you have any spare board games?

EcoMarines are looking for donations to start a board games and card game rental system in the school. The goal is to reduce energy usage in our homes, build our communication and collaborator skills, reuse and recycle items, and to help the earth!
