Friday Flash Week 3 - 3rd of May 2024
From the Principal
Hi Everyone,
Another fantastic Friday at Amberley District State School, and we were quite relieved this morning that the day didn't kick off with a fire alarm blaring. We're currently in the midst of upgrading all the disability toilets throughout the school, with completion slated for Tuesday morning. This should significantly reduce disruptions to our daily routine. I extend my sincere appreciation to our dedicated staff, students, and supportive parents for their patience amidst the ongoing construction and school improvements.
As the mornings grow cooler, we've noticed more children sporting jumpers on their way to school. Just a friendly reminder that students are expected to wear either a school jumper or a plain royal blue jumper, and it's crucial that these items are clearly labeled. Additionally, it's been brought to our attention that some students are wearing jewelry that doesn't adhere to our uniform policy. Please take a moment to review the attached reminder outlining our school's uniform expectations.
Last year, we launched a parent representative group to aid in the formulation of our school's strategic plan. This initiative has proven to be incredibly successful, providing a valuable avenue for parental feedback. Our meetings are scheduled for 2 p.m. in the Library during Week 6 of every term, and we welcome all interested participants. We strongly believe in fostering a collaborative relationship between parents and the school, as it contributes to a positive learning environment for our students. If you're interested in volunteering or assisting in the classroom, please don't hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher.
Next Friday, we're excited to celebrate the birthday of our school mascot, Flash! To mark the occasion, we're organizing a special walk to school. During lunchtime, the children will have the opportunity to participate in a thrilling hunt for Flash's golden eggs. We extend a warm invitation to all families to join us for this walk to school event. We'll gather at Stallard Park and stroll along Deebing Creek Road to meet Flash at the school gate, where we'll collectively wish him a Happy Birthday! Parents of students from Prep - 2 are kindly asked to accompany their children for this memorable occasion.
Have a soaring week!
