Friday Flash Term 3, Week 6 - 22nd August, 2025
From the Principal
Dear Parents and Caregivers,
Exciting News!
We are very excited to share that our new playground will be open for play from Monday! The final step is plumbing in the water pump, which should be completed in the next two weeks.
Also starting from Monday afternoon, our back gate will be open again for families at pick-up time.
Book Week
Book Week was wonderful once again with our biggest ever Book Week Parade! Students loved sharing their favourite characters from much-loved stories. The costumes looked amazing and it was such a joyful morning.
Thank You
A big thank you to everyone who supported our school Skate Night on Wednesday. Together we raised $700 for the Student Council – a fantastic effort!

Wellbeing and Engagement
🤝 PBL Expectation of the Week – “We are Friendly when we play by the rules and join in”
At Amberley District State School, we’re teaching students that being friendly means joining in and playing fairly.
At home, you can help by encouraging your child to:
✅ Follow game rules
👯 Include others
🧠 Try new activities
💬 Use kind and respectful words
Why rules matter:
They help us stay safe, play fair, learn new things, and enjoy time with others.
If your child is feeling upset or left out, try using the PAUSE process together:
Shake the mind jar
Take 3 deep breaths
Have a drink of water
Name the feeling
Calm down
Try again respectfully
This supports our school’s values of being Safe, Respectful, and Friendly Learners and links to our Bullying. No Way! message—kindness and inclusion make a big difference!

School Attendance

Our School attendance rate is currently 90.1%. Our goal is 95%.
Students should who had soaring attendance for the term should have received a purple certificate today!
Please contact your year level Deputy Principal, if you need support with attendance at school. Unexplained absence letters are deployed twice a term. You can update attendance through the QParents app.
Congratulations 2C and 6D for winning the highest attendance this week!
